Steplan Inc.
Oracle
Knowledge Phase II implementation was initiated upon successful delivery of
Phase I. This project extended support for sustainment complexities and speed
of recovery needed for Disney MyMagic+ services. My role was extended to
support the ongoing sustainment operations in parallel with Phase II
delivery. In addition l was responsible for performing sustainment transition
to managed services teams offshore. I was responsible for managing the Oracle
Knowledge implementation/project at Disney. Technical delivery included
extending Phase I delivery by information gathering, configuring, and setup
of external search for content residing in Sharepoint and Confluence, search
tuning using Dictionary Manager (DM), worked with Oracle Consulting Services
in installing, setting up OBIEE, ODI and required components to get Oracle
Knowledge analytics up and running. In parallel l also was continuously
customizing InfoCenter web application to fit into Disney needs and web
services to integrate with InQuira/Oracle Knowledge APIs. I also, performed
an upgrade of Oracle Knowledge/InQuira product from 8.5 to 8.5.1 which
involved all components (IC, IM, AFEditor, AFRuntime, Search, SearchRT,
Search work clients) and all environments (Dev, Stag, Prod). Walt Disney World /
Steplan Inc.
I
worked with Oracle Consulting Services (OCS) and various Disney teams
coordinating, implementing, and delivering a knowledge management solution
known as Oracle Knowledge 8.5 (formerly InQuira). Oracle Knowledge
implementation was initiated to support the sustainment complexities and
speed of recovery needed for Disney MyMagic+ services. Implementation
of Phase 1 provided Operations Customer Care with the necessary information
to perform Incident Management services. I was the technical lead for the
project and responsible for the delivery of a successful project. Technical
delivery was performed in collaboration with Oracle Consulting Services (OCS)
per their recommendation that included installation, configuration and setup
of InfoManager, InfoCenter, Search (Hadoop based), Search Runtimes, Search
work clients, Answer Flow Editor, Answer Flow Runtime. Further setup needed
to include custom authentication using Siteminder and load balance VMs using
F5. End result was an enterprise knowledge management solution with search
being the primary driver. This process was performed on three (3)
environments (Development, Staging and Production). Upon successful
completion of above, my expertise were extended to development in customizing
InfoCenter web application by integrating to Disney capability database and
search. I also created custom answer flows and integrated to search, perform
search tuning using DM (Dictionary Manager) etc. Walt Disney World /
Steplan Inc.
Worked
with various teams across WDW (Walt Disney World) to understand and realign
existing application/systems into a managed services model.
Applications/systems were growing at a rapid phase and the complexity was
even growing faster that required realignment in order to create a manageable
support structure with a clear RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted,
Informed) matrix. I was responsible to leading this initiative collaborating
with EA (Enterprise Architecture) teams in creating and modeling the new
support structure that l defined into a business capability model that would
fit into Mega BPM (Business Process Management) tool. The extensive work l
performed in realigning business services/processes were initially fed into a
customized SQL server DB and upon refining, it the data was fed into Mega BPM
(Business Process Management). In a nutshell, what was accomplished in this
assignment was defining/creating the entire Walt Disney World IT portfolio
and feeding that portfolio data into Mega BPM. This project helped me gain a
deep understanding of the entire WDW IT architecture/structure from domain
(top most level) down to configuration items(CI-VMs, hardware etc)/process
flow diagrams (bottom most level). I also worked with a tool called SOA repository
that maintains versioning of web services and stores all web services as a
central repository with its owners and relevant information. Walt Disney World /
Steplan Inc.
Designed, developed, managed and delivered
on schedule a event management solution to create/manage/publish Walt Disney
Company wide, events. I managed from project initiation to final delivery and
made this a very successful project by delivering on-time and met beyond
customer expectations. Technical architecture for the project was; Struts,
Spring, and iBatis running on JBoss 5, Java 6, and the application was a
remote consumer web service accessed through Vignette Portal environment.
I was brought in to help with the
transition from the current IT infrastructure into the new infrastructure. As
part of the initiative, l was involved in performing technology assessment (hardware/software),
advising and helped to migrate existing systems into more stable
environments. Technologies; JBoss, SQL Server 2000/2005, DB2, Linux VM,
multiple java applications, Vignette Portal Server, Microsoft SharePoint
Server and providing new solutions for existing legacy java applications. BlueCross &
BlueShield of Mississippi / CTG Inc.
Designed and developed a customized BPM
(Business Process Management) solution to automate Electronic Medical Appeals
process. As part of a comprehensive BPM solution l was involved in designing
and developing all of the following components that made up the entire
solution: An EMR (Electronic Medical Records) solution to automate
documentation requests/response, a process/task management interface to
define/streamline processes with the help of IBM On Demand Content Manager for
task routing and ILOG rules engine integration to render existing business
process information. End result of this solution created a
collaborative environment for BlueCross & BlueShield and also all BCBSMS
providers such as doctors, hospitals, clinics, medical facilities etc. I was
the solutions architect, designer, and developer for this project in a 4
member team. The technologies used include; J2EE, Spring, iBatis, Hibernate
ORM, SOA, Web Services, SQL Server, MQ Series, MDB, WebSphere Application Server
and the IDE was RAD (Rational Application Developer) v7. In a nutshell, this
customized BPM solution created an end-to-end, 100% automated electronic
medical appeals management system without any need for manual paper-work or
work task assignments. Also, developed custom reports to measure process
bottlenecks, inefficiencies and various metrics. Walt Disney World /
Steplan Inc.
The Event Calendar was a new web
application to create, manage, and publish WDW (Walt Disney World) events to
its employees via the Vignette Portal Server. Application was developed as a
web service using SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) and the events were
pushed to WDW employees based on their accessibility(target audiences). An
Administration module was also developed to enable administrators create,
manage, target and publish events based on employee audiences via Vignette
Portal environment. I was the solutions architect and developer in a two (2)
team of developers on this project and the technologies used include; J2EE,
Spring, Hibernate, SOA, Web Services, Vignette Portal Server, SQL Server,
JBoss and the IDE was MyEclipse. Lockheed Martin
(STS) / CTG Inc.
The JAMES is a software program that tracks
military vehicles, equipment and components giving commanders the information
they need to prepare for deployment at a glance. By adapting pioneering
technology, JAMES simplifies and drastically reduces the cost of keeping
track of the military's vehicles by eliminating unnecessary duplication and paper-based
systems. This was originally written using PL/SQL, Java, CDF (Common
Development Framework). CDF is a Lockheed Martin proprietary web development
framework. I was involved in converting, enhancing, and redesigning the
legacy JAMES application to fit into a new architecture. I later worked in
JAMES Land (land vehicles only) architecture redesign. Walt Disney World /
Software Resources Inc.
The Cast Special Events Program is an
application that manages Walt Disney World events. Features of the
application provide the capability for Invitees to RSVP electronically,
Administrators to assign seating and Super Users to report out on every
feature. This project was a redesign of an existing project. Application was
running in Cast Portal environment and the technologies used include;
Vignette, SQL Server, Jboss, J2EE and the IDE was MyEclipse.
The
Cast Excellence and Leadership Survey applications are used to survey cast
members (Disney employees) across segments, usually once a year in the fall.
It is a tool for doing 360 degree surveys allowing Leaders to provide
feedback to Direct Reports, Peers, and Executives. Even if the surveys period
is not in session, leader reports from previous years, and other information
about the Cast Excellence process are always available on the Cast Portal. I
was involved in converting a legacy application to a SOA (Service Oriented
Architecture) environment. Application was running in a Cast Portal and the
technologies used include; Vignette, SQL Server, JBoss, J2EE and MyEclipse IDE.
Extra Hours is the system that allows cast
members (Disney employee’s) to sign up for overtime or extra hours shifts. I
converted a legacy application to SOA (Service Oriented Architecture)
environment. The application was running in a Cast Portal and the
technologies used include; Vignette, SQL Server, Jboss, J2EE and MyEclipse
IDE. NuQuest Resources
Inc. (acquired by Brown & Brown
Inc.)
Medicare Set Aside is an online referral
management BPM (Business Process Management) application written using
cutting edge technologies such as; J2EE, Struts, Spring Framework and
Hibernate ORM (Object Relational Mapping). The purpose of this application
was to provide an end-to-end business solution for managing referrals.
Process designer was a custom interface that also included a collaborative
workspace to communicate with stakeholders. Some processes specific to
documentation was streamlined using SharePoint workflows. Documentation
receipts were managed with automated barcodes routing to relevant
referral/case. I was responsible for the technical and the managerial aspect
of this project. I managed three (3) full time analyst/developers in this project.
Part of the work was outsourced offshore. 1 |
